Staffordshire Wildlife Trust offering 18-25-year-olds the chance to exhibit at festival. Thanks to funding from Arts Council England, the Trust is set to host the third Wildchild Festival on Wednesday, 2 August 2023. The Wildchild festival is an amazing family friendly showpiece event set in the scenic surroundings of the Wolseley Centre. The event will host outdoor children’s theatre shows and a mini theatre event inside a whale. There will also be storytelling, African drum and dance, art, yoga, and nature trails mixed in with plenty of craft opportunities put on by Wildlife Trust forest school teachers. As part of the line-up, the Trust wants to work with young people to contribute their own creative vision to the festival; an exhibit or event produced by a youth forum. The funding from the Arts Council will cover the production costs of the team’s vision and can support the cost of travel to Wolseley, with the young people volunteering their time to plan the event. The Trust is putting out an open call to people aged 18 – 25 to join them on Saturday, 11 February at Staffordshire Wildlife Trust’s Wolseley Centre (ST17 0WT) to learn more about the opportunity to take part and have a tour of the festival grounds. Rob Woodhouse, Wolseley Centre Manager says: “Our goal is to create a small forum of young people to contribute their vision to the festival. This is all about empowering their own creative vision and supporting what they want to accomplish as a part of the festival, with available funding.“ Anyone interested can book to attend the information session and festival ground tour, by emailing their interest to wildchildfestival@staffs-wildlife.org.uk |
