We’re really excited to be offering these activities at Biddulph Grange Country Park. They are just the beginning for our events in the Moorlands, and we hope to expand to other areas with further family sessions in future.Staffordshire Wildlife Trust
Nature based family fun in the Staffordshire Moorlands
This site is one of several former Staffordshire Moorlands District Council green spaces which transferred to the Trust’s management last autumn. During February half term The Trust is holding a Wildfamilies drop-in event at the park between 1pm and 3pm on Tuesday 21 February. There will be a range of activities on offer which could include den building, hammocks, nature crafts, wildlife spotting or a campfire (weather dependent). This event is suitable for children of all ages, and there is no need to book. Just come along and follow the signs from the Hideaway Café. The cost is £4 per child. This year the Trust is also excited to be running monthly sessions for home educating families at Biddulph Grange Country Park. The ‘Home Ed Wildskills’ sessions are for children aged six and above and last for two hours. They follow the Forest School Ethos of learning through child-led initiative and interest, giving children and parents the opportunity to connect with the outside world while learning a range of new skills. Activities may include fire lighting, tool use, shelter building, wildlife identification and a variety of outdoor crafts and games. Louise Taylor, Wildchild Officer, said: “We’re really excited to be offering these activities at Biddulph Grange Country Park. They are just the beginning for our events in the Moorlands, and we hope to expand to other areas with further family sessions in future. “You can find full details of all of our events on our website and our Family Activities Facebook page.” For more information and to book a space on one of the events, click here and search 'Biddulph'. |
