Gardens can play a crucial role in making our landscape more hospitable for wildlife. They comprise around 270,000 hectares of land in the UK - far more than nature reserves. If everyone made their gardens wildlife-friendly, this would form a colossal area for our precious wild species to thrive in.

Staffordshire Ecological Record, which is based at the Trust, maintains a database of wildlife records for the county. These records provide an invaluable source of information for conservationists, amateur naturalists and planning authorities.

We welcome all records, regardless of whether the species seen is rare or very common. Find out more about sending in a sighting.

Wildlife special interest groups
