Corporate Volunteering Days

Spending time outdoors as a team

Staffordshire Wildlife Trust is a very popular choice for corporate volunteering and we often have more enquiries than we can accommodate.  As a charity we need to raise funds to cover the costs of administration, organisation and staff time to resource volunteer days.

The charge is £75pp+VAT with a minimum group of 10 required.

Want to book?

If you are interested in finding out what activities are available, please contact Laura Jones on l.jones@staffs-wildlife.org.uk and include the following information:

  • An idea of the time of year you would like to come so we can get a selection of dates back to you
  • The area that you are interested in volunteering in and where, if we can we will find the nature reserve nearest to you
  • The activities you are interested in
  • The number of people who are interested in attending
  • Please note that your day is not confirmed until you have booked on and paid a deposit
  • Depending on the location you choose there will not be amenities such as shops or restrooms nearby
  • A lot of our nature reserves do not have structured pathways and some of the ground is uneven, please consider this when booking.

What will our day include?

  • A knowlegdable staff member to guide your day and provide training
  • Public liability insurance for all activities

What does a typical day schedule look like?

9.30am - Arrive at selected work site for a health and safety briefing, task briefing and registration
10am - Start on task
11.15am -  Tea break before continuing with task
12.30pm - Lunch break. Please bring your own pack up, if you wish us to provide lunch this can be arranged at an extra charge if booked in advance subject to location.
1pm - Afternoon activity begins
2.15pm – Debrief and depart location.

What sort of tasks will we do?

Tasks are available at different times of the year and are weather and location dependent. Our busiest time of year is the winter work season from September – March. Outside of this is breeding bird season, where we keep activities that may disturb breeding birds to a minimum, however there may be opportunities to help us with surveying in the summer.

We can tailor activities and timings according to your needs.

Tasks can include:

  • Building fencing
  • Coppicing and woodland management
  • Removing invasive species
  • Litter picking
  • Tree planting
  • Pathway and steps maintenance
  • And much more depending on the site.

Health and wellbeing days

Everyone in the office feeling a little bit fatigued? When booking, discuss this with us and we can look at changing the activities to include more mindfulness and focus on wild wellbeing.
